Guided by jazz, groove, funk, afro-beat and black music, Flying High keeps in its soul the riffs and oriental melodies that make Smadj‘s brand and sublimates powerful texts in the form of contemporary fables, those by Napoleon Maddox.

The musical writing was guided by the need to feel the groove – more funk, more afro-beat, more black-music – while keeping the riffs and the oriental melodies that make his mark. To do this, he reinvested the electric guitar and the bass – his first favorite instruments – and sought to compose for a voice that tells, that tells and that counts.
